THE FABULOUS 9 TOURS SAN FRANCISCO - AKA the AARP tour

Day 1 - A DIM SUM FEAST

The average age among us nine folks that went to San Franicsco was about 59 with me being the second youngest at the age of 43. The group consisted of me, Gary, my sister, Lan, my mother, my brother's mother-in-law, my friends, Lewis, Ernest, Juan and Joe. We left on February 5 and after a one hour delayed, our planed landed safely in San Francisco and a reserved shuttle van (Super Shuttle - $75 one way) carried us to our first hotel, the Sheraton Fisherman's Wharf. This hotel, along with The Triton Hotel (near China Town) were the two hotels I got through Priceline.com for cheap.Read more

GOLDIE'S FIRST BIG TRIP

After 8 years, I finally retired my old Lincoln Town Car, Big Bertha. Big Bertha is still running well, but since I have my new one, Goldie Han, I decided to give Big Bertha to a friend. Big Bertha has over 287,000 miles and it seems that she can go on forever. Big Bertha is now tooling around in Hot Springs, Arkasas. I hope my new Lincoln Town car Goldie Han will be reliable as Big Bertha has been. Gary and I decided to drive Goldie Han to Las Vegas for our annual trip to Vegas.

The 9 days trip started on Saturday, December 28. Gary and I packed our car full of clothes, food and beverages. It was rediculous! We had enough food to last a month had we ran off I 10 and careened into a steep ravine away from rescuers's view. There were half a dozen winter coats and a combined total of 8 pairs of shoes along with luggages of all sizes.Read more

I am embarking on my annual trip to Orlando for Gay Day Disney week. This year, making the trip will be my friends Lewis G. and my partner in crime, Gary G. Also tagging along this year will be my sister, Lan, her husband, John, their 16-year-old daughter, Jessica and their 5-year-old son, Baby John. This is Baby John 2nd trip to Disney World; he first went there with me when he was barely 2 years old. And as for my 16-year-old niece, this is her 5th time to Disney World. For my family, it does not matter if it's €œGay Day€ or whatever day, it's just a vacation trip. As for the red wig devil, Lewis G., this is his first trip to Orlando and South Florida.

By the time the newsletter comes out, the trip will be over, so I have made this article available on my newwww.Gaytraveling.us web site.Read more

Every Labor Day weekend in September, thousands of people go to New Orleans to party with abandonment. What started out as a private party among group of friends in the 70s has now become Southern Decadence, the gay Mardi Gras. I have been going to Southern Decadence for the past 7 years and everything you heard about it is true. Yes, some people get naked. Yes, some have sex. Yes, every one has fun. The fun surround s a four by two blocks end of Bourbon street where the gay bars are, and spill out over toward the "straight" part of Bourbon street and over to Royal and Dauphine streets.

The great thing about New Orleans is that if all of this fun is too much for you, there are plenty of other things to do. I personally do not have the stamina to stand on a balcony all day long and throw beads to all those buffed, beefy boys for a second of nakedness in the 100 degree plus heat.Read more

On June 1, 2002 I attended my first Gay Day at Disney . That Saturday, the park of choice was the Magic Kingdom at Disney World. All gay participants were encouraged to wear red. As my friend Gary G. and I walked passed through security and on to Main Street, there was a sea of red in every area of the park. Over 125,000 "family" members were there to show that fun and unity can coexist. There were men and women from all ages and races. Some come with friends, some with their mates, some alone, and some with children.Read more
